Cheetahs Break Records at AAU Southern Indoor Nationals!

 

Silver Cheetahs Give Record-Breaking Performances in Tennessee

2011 AAU Southern Indoor National Championships


Savannah, March 14, 2011:


 

The Savannah Chatham Silver Cheetahs Track & Field Club traveled to Johnson City, TN to compete in the 2011 AAU Southern Indoor National Championships. Over 900 athletes were in attendance from all over the country, especially from Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, New York, California and Texas.

Among the three Gold medalists were Taylor Deloach, who broke a record in the Youth Girls Long Jump with a jump of 17-11; Her Brother Jaylen Deloach earned a Gold medal with a jump of 11-4 in the Sub-Bantam boys Long Jump and Shidel Williams won Gold with a time of 23:34.88 in the Young Men 3000 M Race Walk. Donesha Beach received two silver medals; one in the Sub-Youth Girls Shot Put with a throw of 26-03 and the other in the Sub-Youth Girls 3000 M Race Walk with a time of 27:48.22. Our second Silver medalist was Jade Stokes who was only about one foot shy of the first place finish. Both Jade and the first place finisher broke records in the Young Women Shot Put. Jade’s throw was 41-04.75. Kemone Praylo received a bronze medal for the Sub-Bantam Girls Long Jump with a jump of 6-08. Taylor Deloach earned a bronze in the Youth Girls 200 M dash with a time of 26.81. Jaylen Deloach also earned a bronze medal for the Sub Bantam Boys 200 M dash with a time of 32.09. Illyn Spann earned two bronze medals; one in the Intermediate Girls 55 M dash with a time of 8.07 and the other in the Intermediate Girls Long Jump with a jump of 13-08.50. Illyn finished Fourth (4th) in the Intermediate Girls 200 M dash with a time of 29.31 and Kion Hayes placed fourth (4th) in the Primary Boys Long Jump with a jump of 7-05.50. Isaac Spann placed fifth (5th) in two events; the Midget Boys 55 M dash with a time of 8.78, and the Midget Boys Long Jump with a jump of 11-09.50. Kion Hayes placed fifth (5th) in the Primary Boys 55 M dash with a time of 10.11. Shidel Williams placed fifth (5th) in the Young Men 55 M dash with a time of 6.79. Jaylen Deloach placed fifth (5th) in the Sub-Bantam Boys 400 M dash with a time of 1:33.59. Isaac Spann placed sixth (6th) in the Midget Boys 400 M dash with a time of 1:18.73. Illyn Spann placed seventh (7th) in the Intermediate Girls 400 M dash with a time of 1:10.43. Shidel Williams also placed seventh (7th) in the Young Men Long Jump with a jump of 18-06. Rounding off the top eight were Kemone Praylo with a time of 40.51 in the Sub-Bantam Girls 200 M dash, Kion Hayes with a time of 1:42.74 in the Primary Boys 400 M dash and Shidel Williams with a time of 23.56 in the Young Men 200 M dash. The Parents, Coaches and Administrative Staff of the Savannah-Chatham Silver Cheetahs are very proud of the athletes for their accomplishments! The outdoor season is in full swing.
