The Savannah Chatham Silver Cheetahs honor the memory and legacy of Team Founder and Head Coach Edward Jerome Jinks. Coach Jinks served as a Basketball, Football and Track & Field Coach at Sophronia Tompkins High School, now Woodville Tompkins. He was also the Athletic Director. After retirement Coach Jinks worked in Recreation for the City of Savannah and he started the Silver Cheetahs with Coach Jerome White.
